Since 1992, Cindy has served as President of her own consulting firm, Performance Management Solutions; a company that has helped many organizations improve their profitability through organizational and talent development. During her consulting career, she has and continues to design and implement both training and development initiatives in the areas of leadership, management, and service excellence, creation of coaching cultures to support continued learning, and performance management strategies to foster organizational and employee growth.
With over 30 years of experience in banking; Cindy has successfully served in a variety of positions within the retail, lending, and credit areas as well as a senior officer in the areas of human resources, training and development. She served as a strategic partner with the New Jersey Bankers Association as the developer and Academic Program Director of their Emerging Leaders Program as well as a consultant to their Leadership Academy.
While the majority of Cindy’s clients are in the financial services industry, she has also shared her expertise with organizations in other industries including public utility companies, manufacturing firms, departments of government, institutions of higher education, and non-profits.
Dr. Rowan also has significant experience in higher education administration; having served as a Director, Dean, and Vice President in three New Jersey colleges (NJIT, Felician, Centenary). As an adjunct professor, Dr. Rowan instructs graduate level courses in Human Resource Training & Development, Organizational Behavior and Organizational Development. Her specialized firm, Performance Management Solutions for Higher Education, is dedicated to assisting colleges and universities in developing cultures of service excellence and leaders at all levels.
An active member of the American Society for Training & Development (now ATD), Cindy has made numerous presentations at local, national, and international conferences. She has shared her expertise at the annual Bank Trainer’s Conference on such topics as training needs assessments, training evaluation, and training sustainability. Additionally, Cindy has presented at the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and College and University Professional Association in Higher Education – Human Resources (CUPA-HR) conferences on the topics of leadership development of faculty and staff in institutions of higher education. She has shared her expertise on leadership and mentoring through presentations at both the New Jersey Women in Banking and New England Women in Banking conferences as well as the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women. Cindy has received numerous honors for her work and holds the distinction as #1 International Best-Selling Author with a new release in the book “Engaging Experts” coming in January 2021.
Cindy is a certified instructor for some of the nation’s leading firms dedicated to training and professional development. She holds a professional certification in Career Planning & Development from the University of Michigan’s Graduate School of Business Administration and a doctoral degree from Seton Hall University’s College of Education and Human Services in Leadership, Administration, and Policy.
When not working, Cindy can be found on the golf course or enjoying time with family and friends. She also volunteers her time to a number of charitable organizations.
